Not a Consumer Reporting Agency. Chico Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Neither its pages nor a result returned by a linked third-party tool may be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
How Current Is the Information?
Rolls are corrected, portals and fees change, library collections move, and digitization can alter the years available online. Chico permit records, Butte County indexes, and Meriam collections each have different update cycles and gaps. The pages are maintained in good faith, but no detail is guaranteed to be accurate at a particular moment. Confirm a record with its custodian before relying on it.
Not Legal Advice
Nothing here is legal advice. The references describe record sources and common ways Chico rolls and directories are accessed; they do not replace advice from a licensed attorney who can review the facts of a matter.
Lawful Use Only
Public rolls support transparency, not harm. Do not use information reached through this service to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or hurt anyone. California Penal Code §646.9, Civil Code §1708.7, and Code of Civil Procedure §527.6 address stalking and civil harassment; Elections Code §§2194 and 18109 also restrict misuse of voter information. Safe at Home protections under Government Code §§6205-6216 must not be bypassed. Misuse may violate California or federal law and violates the Terms of Use.
Third-Party Search Tools
Some search boxes are operated by outside companies. Chico Residents Directory does not control what those tools return, charge, or do with submitted information. Their results are not FCRA-compliant consumer reports and should be checked against the proper custodian.
Outbound Links
Links may lead to the Butte Assessor and Recorder portals, California voter status, Butte Superior Court case information, Meriam Library local-history collections, the California State Archives, or similar resources. Each destination controls its own content, accuracy, privacy practices, and availability. Chico Residents Directory is not responsible for an external site's operation.
No Government Records Are Hosted Here
This service does not hold a government roll, directory volume, court file, deed, or vital record. It points to the offices, libraries, and portals that keep those materials. To obtain, verify, or correct a record, contact the responsible custodian directly.
